Just took a 3 day trip to New York City! Besides the shows, which are always fabulous, I really enjoyed the bus tour with "On Location Tours." Our guide, Scott, was funny and full of interesting facts about the movie and television business in the city, including stories from his personal experiences in the industry (and the teenaged girls loved him!) It was an interesting experience to drive by a location then watch a movie clip showing that same spot. Visit www.screentours.com for more details about the particular sites they visit and to customize your own tour.
Had a great tour of Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C. recently. There is a fascinating museum in the theater which even includes some of the clothing Lincoln was wearing when he got shot. If the line is not too long, you can visit the Petersen House where Lincoln was taken after he was shot, and the new Center for Education and Leadership. Limited free tickets are available for same-day visits on a first-come, first-served basis, just plan to arrive early.
